We have been working hard on creating and following routines in the last few months. These routines are what we will cling to in the upcoming days of change and adjustment in our family to the new baby.
Each morning Mouse is responsible for unloading the dishwasher after getting dressed all the way to shoes, and eating breakfast. The other day I happened to see that she was busily putting the dishes away, fully dressed to shoes, but over all that, she had on her robe. Is this a quiet rebellion? Time will tell.

Here's Hoping...
For a side job, my family cleans up the football stadium after home games at my husband's school. Today while were working together, my dd tells me, "Teenagers are so stupid. I am just going to skip right over that part of my life, so I don't have to be stupid."
ROCK ON! Here's hoping she can do it! LOL!

The Most Hideous Day!
This morning is the Monday after a non-stop weekend! We are all a bit tired and the house is more than a little worse for wear. So, I call to the Monkey to wake up this morning. He wakes up whining...
"MOM, I declare every Monday as break day from school!"
Why Monkey boy?
"Because they are our most hideous days!!! We have to clean all day, and then do school, and then we are late for Family Home Evening! Please, mom! School break?"
No dice baby!

Musings of a Monkey
Said to me as I prepared dinner tonight. Where does he get these things???
Mom, sometimes I act like a spider.
Sometimes I act like a rabbit.
And sometimes, I act like a monkey.
Also, as we came home from a date and picking the kids up from the sitter:
Monkey - Did you have fun at the dance mom?
Me - Well, yeah, Daddy danced one dance with me.
Monkey - Which dance? Was it the chicken dance?
Me and Daddy - Laughing uncontrollably while searching for paper and pen to right that one down!

Thank God I'm a Country Boy!
2 things for background:
1. Monkey has the deepest brown eyes you can imagine.
2. We just got one of those makeup mirrors that magnify everything.
Monkey - I was just looking in that mirror that makes everything big, and you know what I saw?
Me- What?
Monkey - Well mom, I am really a country boy. I was looking in my eyes and I saw a fence and a prairie. I really am from the country.
Me - Really? That is cool! (thinking to myself, ohhhh I can't wait to tell somebody that!!!) LOL!
