A Renewed Hobby

I have a friend who introduced me to the art of wreath making about 10 years ago. I am so thankful. It has become something I truly enjoy, and can bless others with. I have not made a wreath in over 2 years, since I made a wreath for our new house.
So without further ado, here is the new Fall wreath:
The halloween trimming will be replaced with something else when Halloween is over.
Here is the wreath I made for our house 2 years ago:

The flowers he brought...

Andrew is great about giving me wildflowers. He knows I fully appreciate a fist full of flowers. I enjoyed these especially.

13 Years Since Our First Dance

Yesterday was the 13th anniversary of the day Andrew and I became a couple.

It was a Friday night. We went to a church dance for single adults. I called his roommate to make sure he would be there that night. Then I got all fancied up, and headed to the dance with my brother. When Andrew got to the dance, I pretended I just barely remembered his name. Which went way over his head...and we talked for a while before he asked me to dance. We danced the rest of the night together. How could he resist? The fix was in! After the dance, I invited Andrew back to my apartment to play Skip-bo. My brother said he would meet us at the apartment. He wisely hung out with some friends before coming home. We played Skip-bo, Andrew told me very sweetly, that I was cute. I was glad he noticed. Then we stayed up all night talking. It was so fun!

The next day, I had to go to Houston to help my mom with some things, and I knew I would be trashed from staying up all night. Andrew offered to drive. Now it was my turn to not be able to resist! We enjoyed the weekend with my mom.

At one point we went to get some dinner with my mom. While he went in ahead of us, my mom tells me that she thinks this boy is head over heels for me. I was not convinced. We enjoyed our drive back to Dallas. On this drive, he told me that he would be referring to me as his girlfriend. I had no problem with that.

I love our whirlwind relationship. It was such a fun and confusing time. Who falls in love in a weekend? I guess we did.

First Day of Fall

We love the Fall season here. The weather cools, the trees are painted a beautiful collage of color. Football season is in full swing. It is just an exciting time!

We are going to do lots of fun things this Fall. Identify and collect leaves. Watch for migrating birds. Make lots of things with pumpkin as a main ingredient. Enjoy the wonderful weather and journal in our nature journals.

I am going to browse through a wonderful resource from Five in a Row, the Fall Nature Study. I think the kids and I will read through parts of it together. Today they are going to do an Autumn word search, and I hope to get out some paint and let them paint something in Fall colors.

Hmmm...I may feel the need for a new header soon!

And the winner is....

Remember when we did that play last year as a family? The Best Christmas Pageant Ever...

Well, the other night they had an awards ceremony for all the plays in the 2007-2008 season. Monkey won Best Actor in a Cameo Role - Jr. Division, for his role as Hobie Clark. He was sooooo thrilled! I won Best Actress in a Cameo Role for my role as Mrs. Slocum.

We had the best time doing the play in the first place. This is just icing on the cake! I hope to participate more in our community theatre in the years to come. I think I will be too unavailable until after the baby is around a year old. I hope we can attend some performances this year, just for fun.

Because you cannot get enough...

RIGHT???

Monkey: Mom, did you see those pictures of those girls wearing zuchinnis????

Uh, I think he meant bikinis! Will it ever stop? I hope not! That is LOL funny!

My New Favorite Song

Um, if you didn't know, I am a little OCD. If you don't know what that is, look it up, pretty textbook on a few of the symptoms. But anyway...

I am currently in love with this song, and I need to listen to it realllllllly loud. Sometimes with headphones on. If I worked out, it would definitely be on my playlist. If I had an iPod, it would be on in my ears non-stop. It is a really good way to drown out the noise of the kids...did I just type that out loud....oh well.

If you are not into rocking out...this song is not for you. However, if you have that moshpit, hands in the air, head banging rockstar deep down in your bones, you will probably like this.

This one is the acoustic version. Really pretty, so if you don't rock out, go for this one.
