Cease to be covetous;
Learn to impart one to another
As the gospel requires.
Cease to be idle;
Cease to be unclean;
Cease to find fault one with another;
Cease to sleep longer than is needful;
Retire to thy bed early, that ye may not be weary;
Arise early, that your bodies
And your minds may be invigorated.
And above all things
Clothe yourselves with the bond of charity,
As with a mantle,
Which is the bond of perfectness and peace.
Pray always, that ye may not faint, until I come
Behold, and lo, I will come quickly,
And receive you unto myself. Amen.
Doctrine and Convenants 88:123-126
For a few years I have been working on living these words of scripture. Mainly focusing on the things it tells me to cease doing. I know this scripture well. I read it regularly. Tonight something stuck out.
Pray always, that ye may not faint, until I come. Behold, and lo, I will come quickly and receive you unto myself.
What a blessing that will be, when the Savior will come and receive me unto himself. These words brought me such comfort and peace tonight. I am so thankful for my wonderful Savior who loves me and comforts me. I am so thankful for the Atonement and the gift of prayer. I am thankful for all the little things I am blessed with each day. As I remember these things, I know that I can push forward another day until He will come to receive me.
